BKK Trip Part 1

Finally I have time to blog about my throwback Bangkok Trip after tidy all the pictures. I have to say that i will update my BKK trip post again when I pay another visit to BKK on this year end. ;)

Reach KLIA 2 early in the morning

 Ready to depart!

 Reach our destination - BKK!

We reached Don Mueang Airport around 9.30am. We took cab outside the airport and headed to our hotel in Pratunam - Citin Hotel. The traffic from airport to Pratunam was okay that day. When we reached Pratunam, 7-11 shop can be found everywhere, what I mean everywhere is, you can find 2 to 3 same 7-11 shop on a same row of shoplot. Since we were starving, we went into 7-11 to buy the hot dog that Kenny strongly recommended.

Footlong hot dog (23 THB). We opted for cheese and ori flavour, which was really good. It's springy and taste good. Especially the cheesy flavour one, there's 3 type of cheese cube inside, superb!

We bought our DTAC Happy Tourist Sim Card at 7-11 too, only cost 299 THB for UNLIMITED data and 100Baht free call for 7 days. You have to setup the SIM CARD on your own, just follow the instruction and it can be easily done.

This Barbeque stall was on the street outside our hotel.

Barbeque pork and chicken (10 THB). The pork was tender, juicy, flavourful and the fats was melted in my mouth.

As we checked in our hotel was around 11.30am. The Citin Hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. After we look around our room and put our luggage..

And HERE WE GO.. explore BKK!

12.30pm - Food Court at Platinum Mall

We walked around Pratunam Market and Platinum Mall. We decided to treat our stomach first before start our shopping war. There's some good review about Platinum Mall food court, thus we decided to have our lunch here!

The food center was located at 6th floor. Get yourselves a Reload card from counter and pass the card to the stall when buy food.

Got myself a yakult drinks from 7-11 stall. 0% sugar. 22 THB

Salted egg Somtam. 60 THB. Taste good. It's refreshing, sour and salty. Explosive and rich flavour in a dish. The cabbage and cucumber was placed infront of the stall, add on your own.

Kuay Chap. 50 THB. Flat white square rice noodles which some rolled like a thick straw when it's cooked. The soup taste alike Bak Kut Teh, strong Chinese herbal aroma soup. Inside the soup there's some fried pork, pork knuckles slices, intestines, pork skin and fried tofu skin. Thumb up!

3pm - Siam Center, Siam Paragon & Siam Square

There's many fancy shops and restaurants here. But what caught my attention and makes me came back here everyday was Dairy Queen. It's ice cream was smooth, not too sweet, solid and slightly salty. BIG LOVE.

Vanilla (15 THB), Chocolate Dip (20 THB)

7pm - Street food outside Citin Hotel

 Pad Thai (40 THB)

 Pad Thai WIP

Da lang... Dinner for two. Kenny was starved after long hour walked! We bought :

Salt crusted grilled fish w lemongrass (100 THB). Thumb up. Juicy, fresh and taste great even without any sauce. There's green chilli sauce provided, sour but not spicy.

Pad Thai (40 THB). Stir fried Siam Meehon with vege, peanut, tauge, egg and meat. Taste a bit sweet. Didn't managed to finish it as it's taste was quite different from our preference taste.

Stir fried minced pork w Thai Basil rice, Fried pork w egg rice (40 THB each). Fried minced pork w Thai Basil rice was ordinary, didn't WAO us. While the fried pork w egg rice taste below average, the fried pork was not crispy at all. Worth to mentioned that their Thai rice was much more fragrant than Malaysia's rice.

Omelette (30 THB). Fried egg with chicken slice. Well fried, fragrant and tender.

Ham croissant and sausages from 7-11 again.

We succeeded to finish all the food, mostly Kenny the Champion sapu all, perhaps it's our 1st day in BKK and want to get try on everything.

8.30pm - Palladium Mall Night Street Market

After this, we explored Pratunam Night Market and found what they selling were very normal designed shirt and some Batik dress. Thus, we headed to Palladium Mall Night Street Market.

Palladium Mall Night Street Market is a small street market located outside Palladium Mall, opposite Pratunam Market. The street market fully open around 8pm and stay until 12am.

Most of the stalls here was selling hand craft, women accessories, personal designed shirts and shoes, clothes and food. The main intention we were here was because of the DIY PVC leather for passport holder and notebook.

Most busy stall on the street market. Selling DIY PVC Notebook, Ipad cover, passport holder etc.

DIY T Shirt

Time to go back hotel and rest. Prepare for Day 2 explorer.
