Tatedora @ Nana's Green Tea




Nana's Green Tea, a pioneer of Japanese Cafe with Matcha, is introducing their new product - Tatedora. Tatedora is a freshly baked dorayaki that is folded with bean paste and additional toppings!


The day we walking to cinema, my eyes attached with Nana's Green Tea, i saw the picture of DORAYAKI! Immediately we walking to the counter and order it!

You can design your own Tatedora according to your own preference. 

Step 1, Choose your favourite paste - Red bean paste, Black sesame paste, Chocolate paste & Lemon paste. (RM 4.80)

Step 2, Choose your favourite toppings - Fresh strawberries, Japanese rice cake (Gyuhi), Salted butter (RM 1.20 each)





Semi Automated Machine from Japan to make Tatedora! 



The Dorayaki is literally baked in front of us after we placed our order! Cool... And here we go PIPING HOT FRESHLY MADE TATEDORA!!!

Black Sesame Paste & Red Bean Paste w Fresh Strawberries 





I choose the combination of Red bean paste with fresh strawberries and Black sesame paste. The dorayaki itself is a abit fluffy and yummy, while the red bean paste is not too sweet and goes well with sour fresh strawberries slice. Personally I prefer my Tatedora with only black sesame paste. Simple and not too much mixture of flavour. Their black sesame paste is a thumb up, it's fine and rich, yet not too sweet.



Currently they have this limited time Sakura flavor Tatedora! Will give a try on my next visit! I am a Dorayaki lover!

Weekend, Brunch, Big Breakfast!

YES! Antipodean's Big Breakfast is my all time favourite as brunch!


'Antipodean' means a person from Australia. Indeed at Antipodean Café, they are serving good coffee and big portion delicious Aussie style breakfast spread. Their menu is written on a chalk board on the wall, you have to crane your neck for a good view of the menu, depending on your seat. 


They have 3 branch in Malaysia - Bangsar Telawi 2, Menara Tan & Tan, Midvalley. Personally I prefer Bangsar branch as it's not so hot and better air-con system if compare to the other 2 branch.

Banana Pancake w Butterscotch




All Day Big Breakfast. Coming with Toast, Bacon/Chicken/Beef/ Pork Sausage, Mushrooms, Scrambled Egg & Hashbrown. A generous portion of sautéed mushrooms & scrambled egg, homemade hashbrown and sausage, and buttery fragrant toast! Everything on the plate is yummy and satisfactory. Do request for black pepper if you need it for your scrambled egg and sautéed mushrooms!


Banana pancake w Butterscotch. Fluffy and 'very banana' taste, beautifully match with butterscotch. Side with some mixed fruits salad.



After finish our brunch and coffee, we left to another café nearby to continue 2nd round. Craving fixed. =D

Sausage and Ribs Shack @ Taman Midah



Are you a pork lover?
A meat lover?
A Spain Cuisine lover?
Or Sausage & Ribs Lover?

If you are either one of the type I mentioned just now, you must come here to try out their food.




Sausage & Ribs Shack started their restaurant business in Taman Midah, Cheras since October 2013. This restaurant is running by a family, which the only cook in this restaurant is the husband (The Sausage Man), while his wife and mother take orders from customers and serve food when the food is ready, it's truly a heart warming picture.


Before u step into restaurant, you have to remove your shoes, this makes you feel like u are home. The decoration here is quite homey style, heartwarming type.

Sausage And Ribs Shack is famous with their Signature dishes - Homemade German Sausages & BBQ Pork Spare Ribs! Something to highlight is this restaurant is selling Weihenstephen & Franziskaner German Beer which is rarely can be found in Malaysia!

Started our heavy dinner with Coral Salad w Roasted Sesame Dressing (RM8)



Jamon Serrano with Salad (RM38)



 Homemade Sausage Platter (350g mix) (RM35) Coming with Mustard sauce.



Jamon Serrano is a type of dry cured Spanish Ham serving in thin slices, made from the landrace breed of white pig. Here they serving with green salad with Balsamic Vinegar and Melon. The ham is smooth, slightly salty, but it's perfect when you wrap it with melon together because the melon bring out the fragrant ham flavor. 


Their Homemade Sausages is sososo delicious! It's springy and popping in your mouth when first bite , yet juicy! When you are cutting the sausage, you can see there's some juicy essence flowing out! The meat is so fragrance and satisfactory chewy, and the aroma is surrounding your mouth! Their sausages is grilled together with onion, you can see there's some onion slices which is sweet and juicy sleeping under sausages, you can eat the onion together with sausage, create another delicious flavor.



BBQ Spanish Pork Spare Ribs (Half Rack) (RM38)


Signature BBQ Spanish Pork Spare Ribs is a thumb up. According to chef, the meat need to marinate overnight and slowly roasted for 2 hours. It's sweet, juicy, flavorful and tender! You just have to bite it gently and the meat is come off the bone! A definately MUST ORDER! 

**REMEMBER to place your reservation for ribs at least a day earlier to avoid disappointment!



Thin Crust Pizza w Pineapple and Chicken (RM20)



Spaghetti Aglio Olio w Bacon & Mushroom (RM18)


Thin Crust Pizza with Pineapple and Chicken is another must order when you are here. The main attraction is the type of cheese they are using, definately not typical Mozzarella, Cheddar cheese or the cheese that other pizza chain restaurant using. The pineapple and chicken topping still remain juicy!


We wanted to order Homemade Fettucine but we were told that Fettucine is not available on that day because the chef was too busy to made it due to some issue. Spaghetti Alio Olio with Mushroom and Bacon, nohing to shout about, it's normal and personally i think it's too plain and not flavorful. Perhaps will give a try on their Homemade Fettucine on my next visit.




Mashed Potatoes - Not in menu, available prior request.


Did you guys note about the Mashed Potatoes as side on both of their signature dishes (Homemade Sausage & BBQ Pork Spare Ribs)? It's not eye catching right? But we were 'HUHA WALAO' when we first taste it!! It's so fine, smooth and fragrant! We finish it in the blink of an eye and request to side order Mashed Potatoes which is not written on the menu.


It's a satisfying meal. German beer will be on my next visit if I am not driving. LOL


Not to forget, they are selling raw homemade sausages too! You can purchase and cook it yourselves at home, good food will never be enough!

MAIU @ Mahkota Cheras



Monday Blue...



After a hectic day, my colleagues and I decided to have buffet dinner to ease the blue after work. We were struggling on making decision either go to Contango Cafe @ Majestic Hotel or MAIU. At last we decided to go MAIU @ Mahkota Cheras for a try since we been Contango Cafe for a several times, plus there's many reviews and posts sharing on FB that recommends MAIU ala carte buffet which we never tried before.



MAIU is a Japanese restaurant that serves ala carte, value set lunch & ala carte daily buffet. 
Price for ala carte daily buffet : RM48.80+ for Adult ; RM25.80+ for Children ; FOC for children below 95cm. (10% Service Charge & 6% GST apply)

Something sweet to put a fullstop to this meal.. Green Tea & Wasabi Ice Cream




They provide many choices of food. But there's only 3 different type of sashimi - Salmon, Shiro Maguro (White Tuna) & Maguro (Tuna). They didn't provide Hamachi (Yellow Tails) which consists in the basic Sashimi Moriawase Asama (Salmon, Tuna & Yellow Tails). 



Beside, we were disappointed when the staff told us 'Dont Have Unagi' when we pointing at the menu picture of unagi sushi and want to order it. =(








Among all the food we ordered, we are most satisfied with: 

  • Salmon & Shiro Maguro Sahimi - Fresh and just okay thickness. 
  • Maguro Tempura - Vege & prawn remain juicy. Crispy.
  • Saba, Salmon & Salmon Head Shioyaki - Saba Fish is juicy and tenderly grilled. Salmon Fish Head is good and grilled perfectly, it's skin is crispy and the rich fat was melting in mouth once u eat it. Nothing to shout about Salmon Shioyaki, it's normal. Remember request for Teriyaki Sauce.
  • Gyuniku Enoki Yaki - Juicy and rich in flavour.



 

As for desserts, there's 3 choices of ice cream flavour - Wasabi, Green Tea & Chocolate. Topping with Red Bean Paste. Personally I prefer Wasabi more than Green Tea. Wasabi ice cream doesn't taste too strong as we expect, it's mild and okay with red bean paste. While Green Tea Ice Cream is too milky for my taste. Can we have a small bowl of only Red Bean Paste without ice cream?  =p

 




Overall, the food and service worth the price we paid. Food serve in short time after we placed orders and staffs are attentive too. But there's a big room for improvement for food. 

 




Will come back for another visit? No.

103 Coffee Workshop @ Sri Petaling


Starting your lovely Sunday by having brunch at favourite cafe is awesome! Agree? =D


 
 
Today i paid my 2nd visit to 103 Coffee Workshop to have brunch and spent some quality time on my precious Sunday. 103 Coffee Workshop is a Japanese Style Cafe which serve Japanese fusion dishes (Brunch, Appertizers, Don, Udon etc) ,cakes & drinks.

As for main dishes, we ordered Mentai Pizza (RM14.90) as starter.




 

 
Teriyaki Chicken Don with Spring Egg. (RM14.90) Thumb up.




 


Japanese Curry Chicken Don. (RM16.90) Nice!





 
Their Mentai pizza is coming in thin crust and mentai sauce instead of tradition tomato sauce. Topping with chicken dices, cheese, spring onions and seaweed. Perfect combination, A must order!


 
Teriyaki Chicken Don. Chicken is tender, just nice teriyaki sauce, spring egg to mix with the well cooked Japanese rice, nom nom.


 
Curry Chicken Don. I have some *wao* with their fried chicken, which the flour coated is just nice, not too thick floured coated as others Japanese restaurant. It's tender and taste so so delicious together with the not spicy at all Japanese curry!
